I find myself really wanting a pair of Tom’s lately. Why? I don’t know. They are the epitome of dirty hippy shoes. But I would gladly take any one of these. Santa, are you listening?

(although I’m giving myself a pass on the wedges because those don’t really scream dirty hippy)

I have been on a search for a pair of knee-high gray boots since the end of last year’s winter season. And now that fall is upon us and the market is saturated with miles and miles of lovely boots, my search has been reignited. I was ecstatic upon opening my mailbox this past weekend when the Garnet Hill catalog was sitting on top with these boots on the back cover. Cute, cute, cute! And only $59 to boot (see what I just did there)? Un.Be.Liev.Able.

The catch? They are kids shoes. Which, for most people, is a no go. But much like I have freakishly small earholes, I also have Asian feet. Small, really small. So it would be great, but since they are kids shoes, I’m concerned the boot shaft is going to be too short (10 3/4 inches). If I wanted a pair of calf height boots, I would have looked for calf height boots. I want knee-high boots.

So help a sister out. What should I do? To buy or not to buy?

Most women have, at some point, dressed up as a catholic school girl. Either for real because they actually were a catholic school girl, or for Halloween, or perhaps in a naughty way for a little bedroom fun (what? sue me.). With or without a school uniform these Independent Studies Wedges are DY-NO-MITE! I am a sucker for a good wedge and these are just beautiful!

I may have mentioned that I’m in my BFF’s wedding later this year. I also may have mentioned that I am nothing if not prepared. I was the first one to get my bridesmaid’s dress and had every intention of being the first one to get my shoes as well. Waaaaaaaaay ahead of time. Learned that little OCD number from my dad. If you need to do something, do it NOW. Even if what you need it for is 8 months away. Like I said, I like to be prepared.

Anyhoo…there has been some question as to the type of shoe my BFF would be selecting for us ladies and that had me a little concerned. There are 5 bridesmaids total and the other 4 are giant compared to me, which doesn’t even include the bride who is equally as tall. It is entirely possible that I may be confused as a circus midget in this line-up of women. So my concern for the shoes was that a flat or a kitten heel would be selected and I would end up having to spend a small fortune on a shoe without a heel that I would undoubtedly NEVER wear again.

Disaster averted. The decision was made for us all to have the same color and basic style of shoe but that each BM could choose their own pair. And would you get a load of these little beauties? They are a Pierre Dumas Excelent shoe and I believe the name says it all – EXCELLENT! Fan-freaking-fabulous if you ask me. And if you can believe it – it gets better. I found them on Piperlime of all places, which is usually way out of my dirt-poor, cheap-ass, Jew-like (no offense intended to my people) budget, but the sun was clearly shining on me yesterday because these were only $20. Yes, TWENTY DOLLARS. With FREE shipping to boot! Halle-frickin-lujah is all I can think to say!

So these are my new shoes. I know – cute, right? Or so I thought they were my new shoes…

I shop at Payless and am quite proud to admit it. Payless knows my frugal nature and they aspire to it. So I love them. The thing is, I am on the freakishly short side, and therefore, have freakishly small, Asian-sized feet. This affliction = hard to find footwear, especially in stores. But stores always seem to have an abundance of my size in their online collection, so I’ve taken to buying most of my shoes online. Unlike my gargantuan ass and incredibly un-ladylike beer gut, my feet generally stay the same size. So buying online is kind of a no-brainer. Except this time.

I frequently buy shoes from Payless online because they ship to a local store for free and there is one almost right next door to where I live. So I bought these shoes online, giddy with anticipation of how insanely cute they are. I go to pick them up today and guess what? For the first time EVER, the shoes are too small. And by too small, I mean I think I may have poked a hole in one with my toenail too small. They were freakishly small like my feet are freakishly small, just not small in the same size.

And its no big surprise that the store didn’t have the shoe in stock either, but not only did they just not have it in my size, they didn’t have it in ANY size. And every other local store was also sold out. So now I’m back to square one, ordering them from the online store. Do I order a half size or a whole size bigger? I’ve never had the problem of too small before so I don’t know what to do. Help?

Yes, folks, summer’s a-comin!. And I’m thinking these t-strap sandals are possibly just what I need to complete my first of the season summer outfit. Perfectly feminine and equally adorable, with just the right amount of color to spice it up! And you know the best part? They’re under $20!

Spring has not quite sprung yet in San Diego, but you’re nothing if not prepared, I always say. Which, is of course, why I need these Kimball flats. They are beyond adorable and with the little peep toe, just a tad bit sexy as well. And if you’re so inclined, they come in sunny brights of yellow and pink!

I have been on the hunt for rain boots since last winter and I would definitely be singin’ in the rain with these Alice Moov Boots. Sure it only rains here like 2 days a year but I would be hella stylin’ for those 2 days. It’s just a shame that they cost $240. Dammit!

I’ve got ‘em. And let me tell you, sometimes it kinda sucks the big one. Why? Because it means I can’t have these shoes, which are kind of awe. some. Not only do they not come in my size, they don’t even make them in my size. Stupid Gap.
